With no visits taking place for the Alabama football program, Nick Saban and staff have set their sights on a few prospects committed elsewhere.

It’s no secret. When it comes to recruiting elite talent, not many in the history of college football do it better than Coach Nick Saban. While COVID-19 may have slowed the process for Crimson Tide recruiting initially, things are definitely starting to pick up with the class of 2021. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s flip season.

Many are now hinting that we could see a big time flip as soon as this coming up Monday. Devonta Smith is a name Tide fans already know and love, but there could be a second Smitty on his way to Tuscaloosa. A very talented cornerback prospect out of LaSalle High School, Smith is currently committed to the Buckeyes of Ohio State. However, multiple sources are now indicating that they expect Devonta to open up his recruitment and ultimately flip his committment to Alabama.

Tide fans should definitely be watching Smith, as I believe he is set to skyrocket in recruiting rankings with a good senior season. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: this is chapter 3 of the Nick Saban dynasty. Like it or not, Saban and staff can still recruit at an elite level and National Championships are soon to follow.
