I don’t compare myself to anyone. I believe there is only one Jusaun Holt.

Alabama basketball head coach Nate Oats continued his impressive recruiting tear, landing his first commitment of the 2021 cycle in 4-star Jusaun Holt out of St. Francis in Georgia.

Holt is 6’6″, 200 pounds, and was recruited by Alabama great and current assistant coach Antoine Pettway. He chose Alabama over Clemson, Dayton, UGA, and others. I had a chance to see some film and I was thoroughly impressed. His handles are well above-average and he can shoot from the arc with great consistency. His size is perfect no matter where he is on the court and he is able to cover wide distance over a short period of time. Passing is another strong-suit for Holt, as his passes reach their target consistently. He shows great potential on the defensive side of the ball and is willing to play tight defense when the situation calls for it.

Holt committed to Alabama Sunday to Tide Nation’s delight. Every Tide basketball fan should be excited for what he can bring to the table. “I chose Bama because of the overall fit, really, the playstyle, and just how the coaches and team were a family,” Jusaun told me when I asked about why he chose Alabama. Jusaun displayed a highly competitive spirit in our conversation, “Most definitely we will win a lot of games, I hate to lose, so that’s not going to happen,” when asked about the Tide’s potential to win and make the NCAA tournament upon his arrival.

When asked about his potential role on the court, Jusaun told me “I know when I get there I will have a big role in shooting the three and defending,” indicating that Coach Pettway has given him an overview of what he might expect on campus. When asked about his favorite current or former Alabama basketball player, he laughed when he exclaimed that Pettway is his favorite. And he isn’t alone, Pettway was a monster on the court and remains the favorite of many Tide fans. Jusaun displays a high level of healthy confidence and proclaimed when asked abput his abilities “I believe I can bring a decent amount of everything to the table.”

To close off the interview, the one question I was excited to hear an answer to was “what player would you compare yourself to in the NBA?” He didnt disappoint with his answer: “I don’t compare myself to anyone. There is only one Jusaun Holt.” This young man is looking to make a name for himself at the Capstone, and I know that Bama fans will welcome him with open arms and cheer for him with pride everytime he takes the court.
