Alabama Football: Recruiting notes and tidbits.

by Cory Dees

Roll Tide Bama Nation! Team Tide Talk checking in with a recruiting piece. In this article I am going to list three remaining players on our board, who our competitors are and finally my predictions. Please note that there are at least 5 spots still open in total.

Tunmise Adeleye

The 5 star defensive end out of Katy, Texas is an absolute play maker. Adeleye was once committed to Ohio State University before announcing his de commitment. There was wild speculation that Alabama had secured the flip but that in all actuality was not the case. He wanted to enjoy the recruiting process and keep his options open. Currently Alabama, Florida and Texas A&M are his 3 front runners. Alabama has remained in the drivers seat for most of his recruiting, however, TAMU has made up considerable ground in the last month. As of now, I am leaving my prediction on Alabama to land this playmaker.

J.T. Tuimoloau

Yet another 5 star player on the defensive line that Alabama is in the mix for. The Washington State native in an absolute unit and game changer on defense. It has long been thought that it was a forgone conclusion he would end up playing for the Buckeyes, however, sources close to his recruitment have indicated that it is Alabama that has caught his attention. Nick Saban has personally become invested in this kid and is leading the charge for his signature. It will always be hard for me to bet against Saban, but as of this moment, I expect him to commit to Ryan Day and the Buckeyes of Ohio State. Will be a battle.

Xavian Sorey

The IMG Academy product has put together a really good season so far. Sorey is a hard hitter, flies to the ball and always seems to make a play for his team. Alabama has had success dipping into the Sunshine state during Saban’s tenure and this could be the case again. Florida and Georgia are the main competitors for his signature and I was told early on Alabama had a sizeable lead. Sorey does not talk a lot, nor does he tip his hand. Numbers are becoming increasingly tight at Bama and I do not know if his spot his guaranteed at this point. There has been growing confidence on the Florida side of things and that could be an effect of the numbers pinch at Bama. Due to all this uncertainty I am still going to pick Alabama for Xavian with Florida a close second.
