Alabama Men’s Basketball: Tide take down Rebels in conference opener

by Stacey Blackwood

The University of Alabama Men’s Basketball team recorded their 800th victory in the SEC tonight inside of Coleman Coliseum, defeating the Ole Miss Rebels 82-64.

There wasn’t any question that head coach Nate Oats had the team ready to play tonight, as they controlled the game from start to finish. Alabama was led by Villanova transfer Jahvon Quinerly who finished the game with 24 points.

The energy on the defensive end was the difference for the Tide tonight, as they forced 16 Ole Miss turnovers and held the Rebels to just 33% shooting from the field.

Alabama travels to Knoxville this Saturday to take on the seventh ranked Volunteers.
